Default oil catch cans??????

i read this article on theoldone.com about this crvtec motor they built with a gsr head. it put down some good numbers bu tthey blew the first one they built because they were reving it out to 10200. which is really high. but on the second motor they built it had a oil catch can. they had to fittings drilled into the front of the valve cover which is shown in the link below ..... http://www.theoldone.com/artic...k.jpg

...they mentioned somethin about really high crankcase pressures, and that was what the oil catch can was for...but i dont get how it works, if someone would give me some info, that would be great.

thanx
