Default obd1 wiring distributor

something is messed up with my distributor wiring, can anyone tell me a good way to test the connections and wiring to determine where the problem is.
i have 12v on ignition, but i dont know how to test if the ground is good (doesnt the motor have to be turning over for the ground to activitate?

Put the gator clamp on the teest light to the (+) side of the battery

the ground for the distributor is not constant gound it is a switching ground i believe, and it only one when the ignitor releases the charge

it will still work, it will show when you have ground and when you do not

you cannot get it to ground out unless its all connected then of course you cannot test it...
