Default Obd0 to obd1 engine conversion

Help me out here. If I remember right to convert an obd0 “b16a1” to obd1 “b16a2”. you have to change the injectors, dizzy, relocate the O2 sensor. Run a obd1 ecu. I think that’s it. The reason I ask is because I can get an old b16a1 long block for 300 bucks cheaper than the later version. I’m just going to rip it apart sleeve it and get it ready to run boost. I have an obd1 b16 in my 90 civic hatch and would like to keep it that way, but if its going to cost a ton of money to convert the engine to obd1 I might as well go ahead and get the later odb1 version. I’m getting sent to Hawaii soon and would rather get it now and have the army pay to ship it as apposed to having it shipped to the island latter and having to pay out the nose for shipping.

You need:

OBD1 distributor, injectors, ECU and 4 wire O2 sensor.

You will still reuse the OBD0 engine harness - you'll be switching the plugs for the dizzy and injectors. You'll need an OBD0 to OBD1 ECU conversion harness then add the extra wiring for the 4 wire O2.

All above mentioned is correct. You can save a couple dollars though and keep your non obd injectors and resistor. If you don't mind doing some extra wiring, buying newer injectors and removing the resistor, that'll work too, but more work.

Word. But the OBD1 injectors/clips are optional. You can reuse the OBD0 injectors and retain the resistor box. Also, if you run AEM or any standalone that will allow you to select the trigger pickup, you can reuse the OBD0 distributor.

what do you do with the resitor box if you opt to run obd1 style injectors? just unplug the connector that goes into it?

you can cut the connector off and solder the wires. on the harness i got from h-motors there was a cap that plugged right into the connector where the resistor used to go that acomplished the same thing and i didn't have to cut up the harness so i can use the resistor later if i choose to use diffrent injectors.

Yeah most obd1 civics just have the harness that would go to the resistor box capped off. mine does.
