OBD question
What happens if you mix a distributor, alternator, and ECU of different OBDs? Like a 91 civic with a OBD0 1991 integra LS ECU, and JDM B20 distributor and alternator. would the car just not start?
Alternator doesnt care much. The only difference is the physical plug that plugs into it. You can swap that plug on your wire harness to match the alternator or simply find the correct year alternator that fits your existing plug. Nothing too complicated.
The distributor/ecu combo is a different story. OBD0 distributors will ONLY work with OBD0 ecu's. Meaning, if you have an OBD1 ECU and an OBD0 distributor, it will not work. However OBD1 and OBD2 distributors and ECU's are interchangeable. The only difference is the physical plug on the wire harness, which can be swapped out to fit your dizzy/ecu or vice versa.
