Which OBD is better?
I am looking into swaping a b16 into my civic. I can get an OBD1 b16 from a del sol or an OBD2 b16 from a civic. Just focusing on the electronics of this swap which is better? Is there any difference in performance between OBD1 and OBD2?

The motor doesnt really matter but the ECU does.
stay with the OBD1, the OBD 1 ECU's are easier to modify and OBD 1 is not as picky and sensitive as OBD2.

You can always get the OBDII motor, get a OBDII/OBDI adapter and run a OBDI ecu. Might cost a little more but you will have a newer engine with probably less miles. Just a thought. OBDI is a lot less pickier than OBDII. But both have their advatanges and disadvantages.

i would go with the obd2 and use a conversion but my civic is 88-91 and that is pre OBD so what would you suggest with that?

you can rewire the Pre-obd to OBD1.
been trying to make conversion kits for it but just havent had time. We do it often to all the swaps we do. Might as well do it during the swap than later.
