no power in h22 higher rpm band?
i got a 2000 sh motor in my 93 cx, the problem is that my motor sounds great and it screams when it takes off, but i dont go anywhere. mainly after 6k rpm, i feel like theres no more hp comin outta my motor. ive been told that its my timing, but i have a timing gun, and i cannot find a spot on my crank pull to line up with. anyone know where to line up the crank pully marks? can i just shoot the timing gun ont he flywheel and line it up with the mark there and it'll be fine?
reason im asking this is because i feel my car is not fast at all! i cannot even break traction in first gear(not like i want to, but for reassurance that i got power).

hey i have the exact same problem with the exact same motor just in a 92 cx, but down low my car feels like it has no power and i can barely chirp first to 2nd gear also! i swear my single cam vtec was faster, not trying to jack your thread but we both need help so anybody got any ideas on what our problems are? by the way what ecu are you using?

Cam timing. Get it adjusted. My cam timing was about 90 degrees off and i had no power out of 1st gear. It was like i was revin a lawn mower motor in a semi. Made alot of noise but didnt go anywhere.
Both of you guy's cam timing may be off a tooth or two. Also might wanna get that ignition timing checked while you're at it.

Re: (AudioFuct)
stock exhaust? if so disconnect at header and test drive. you can check cam timing easily you have to reomve the plug on the engine to look at the flywheel to check tdc and timing. check fuel pressure? maybe a fuel filter too.

i have a feeling its the timing but, how can i fix the cam timing? i changed the timing belt twice and both times my cams looked TDC w/ cylinder #1. special K ive, seen your posts before and i got the same problems too, maybe we can both get our problems fix on this thread.

yea that would be great if we can solve our problems in 1 thread
ive checked my timing and everything seems fine, maybe im doing something wrong??...i bought a timing gun and pointed it the flywheel and it said 15 so that should be right, right?
hey h22-cx-guy where did you loop your cruise control acuator too? if i try plugging mine up my engine stalls out

just plug it up with something, just make sure all your things are plugged up, then check your timing. after that, you'll be at my state of cluelessness.

i had a brand new cat when i did my exhaust set up after finishing the swap..
hey h22-cx-guy, you ever get your problem figured out?

i have the same problem!
93 h22a in a 93 civic. it runs great to 3000-4000 rpm then after that it drops down to 60hp
ive dynod it and the fuel is all fine. timing is good and cams are set right. ive checked the entire wiring harness 3 times in the past year. tried 4 different ecus and the only one that worked was a p28 spoon chipped ecu.. the car almsot seems to have more power at half throttle cus if i give its full throttle it just boggs down. and if u give it full throttle at 5000 rpm and slowly let off the throttle u can feel the horsepower increase.
its almost like the ecu is retarding the timing the more throttle i give it. when in fact it should be advancing it.
if anyone has an answer please help!!!!

Re: (htchbak)
how about the map sensor? try back probing the sensor and see if the voltage does anything goofy. you can also check your timing with it reved up and see if it also does anything goofy.

I has this very same problem and it ended up being my o2 sensor. I replaced with a Bosch(JUNK) universal sensor and worked great for 2 months then took a ****. I replaced it with a new sensor from the dealer and it works perfectly fine since.
