NO FIT: JG Edelbrock Intake Manifold Into 87 CRX
No fit: JG Edelbrock manifold (intake) on to crvtec on HASport mounts into 87 CRX Si.
Ran out of time, but will try the ITR manifold on to it tomorrow - wow, that engine compartment is small and used to think EF compartment small!

Re: NO FIT: JG Edelbrock Intake Manifold Into 87 CRX (Ruby Civic)
ya i had some trouble putting mine on my b16a in a EG.....had to rock the motor then found out i had to file the manifold on the passenger bottom side....needless to say i ended up trading it for a differential....

Re: NO FIT: JG Edelbrock Intake Manifold Into 87 CRX (b16a4me)
HCI magazine about a year ago had an article that dyno tested the various intake manifolds, and by the far the best bang for the buck was a b16a that had been, if i remember extrude honed.
i had hoped to get the 7-10k rpm boost with the jg, but have to work around that.
still, this car (87 crx) is so much lighter than the civic ex (91) that i had the former b16a in, that it should be a serious gain in acceleration...

I've made a custom manifold for mine. I'll find out tomorrow if it fits.
If not I'll cut open the standard one, port it and weld it back together.

Dang...the Edelbrock manifold didn't fit?!?! Isn't that manifold closer to the engine than the stock one? If that doesn't fit, how would a stock one fit? Is it hitting the firewall.....or the brake lines on the driver's side?

Re: NO FIT: JG Edelbrock Intake Manifold Into 87 CRX (Marauder)
hitting the firewall in a way that would take major reworking - definately not close - never got to the hood issue which is supposedly not a prob. the JG piece is very large in horizontal dimension. work has not let me answer the question of fit with the ITR manifold but will report on that ASAP

The runners on the JG are shorter but the plenum is HUGE!!

I'll see if a mate can take a photo and post it somewhere. Basically it is a cut down, ported stock B16 one with a 4 inch tube mounted

they will fit fine, the ITR fits fine., you need to install motor with the manifold already on. If you try to change while motor is already in then you need to remove the front motor mount form the hasport kit and shift forward, but the kit is stiff so not that much flexing is gonna happen.

Re: NO FIT: JG Edelbrock Intake Manifold Into 87 CRX (CHEETAH)
your better off without that JG mani I think. Fromwhat I have seen that thing doesnt make power until you float a valve from over revving. Type or skunk would be way to go.... Good Luck either way...

well, prolly cheetah w/ more skills than me, but would not fit with mani on...maybe scared to torque that thing....
itr mani is on, and the motor in, but gotta do those cobbled-together axles from HASport - any tricks with them to know???used their axle shafts
