Default New Swap / What should be replaced?

When you get a new swap, what parts should you replace right away?

Clutch, timing belt, water pump, spark plugs/wires..

What else should be replaced?

All of those are a good idea. You can also change the oil pan and valve cover gaskets, distributor cap, rotor button, PCV valve, fuel filter, etc. It just depends on how much $ you have to work with and/or how **** you are. Some people will rebuild it right off others drop them in as is and go, somewhere in there is a happy medium.

Do it all now, who knows when the last time they were replaced. At least this way you'll know when it was done and when you should do it again. A lot of the parts aren't expensive like the gaskets, caps, pcv valve, etc...

If it's an 01 motor that has been taken care of, chances are little if any of those parts will need to be replaced. Just use your best judgment and inspect everything. Anything that looks slightly worn or anything, just replace those parts.
