Default New engine, now throwing codes.

Just finished installing a JDC B18c into my 93 Si and it runs great but I am getting a code when ever I let off the throttle and coast. I checked the code and its the TPS code but I cant remember which # that was. I check the TPS section in the manual and its all OK. I had this happen to me before with the old motor and with a number of ECU's,never tracked it down. I tried a few ECU's with the new motor and they all did the same thing except for my chipped P28. I need to get this working on the stock ECU to get the car through emissions then I can just put the other ECU in but until then if I know one knows how to fix this, will it affect my emisions?

TPS is a code 7...I had that code then I swapped out my TPS for the one on my DX motor and voila...Got rid of that code and code 14 when all was said and done...I read somewhere that if you have a CEL for TPS the car will set a default idle and I think run a lil more rich...Dont quote me on that though...

There is a chance that the TPS sensor is bad or going bad. Some company's ship the motor with the TPS detached since it's easily broken during removal and/or shipment, not sure if that's your case. The TPS can be adjusted kind of like a distributor. If it's not set right, it will throw a CEL since it needs to operate at the proper voltage.

Thanks for the idea, its probably not adjusted right. I just remember that I pulled the TPS off when re-building the motor. Kew, thanks.

I did the adjustment according to the manuel and thendouble checked with my bros car and the adjustment turned out to be almost the same so that cant be the problem.
