Need Some Help on Code Issue
Hey guys I just finished my gsr swap on a 93 civic dx. At first it would run good but then it kept shutting off. So I check the codes and code 21- VTEC spool solenoid valve. So what my question is: What do I need and have to do to fix that???

Re: Need Some Help on Code Issue (slamef)
that means your vtec solenoid is probly not hooded up, therefore vtec is not functional. mine was throwing a code 21 before i hooked up the solenoid...... look at the passenger-side front corner of your valve cover....directly to the left of that (right in front of the distributor) is a cylinder shaped object with an electrical plug coming out of it. thats yer vtec solenoid. if you didnt hook it up, you need to run a wire from the vtec pin on the ecu to the plug on the solenoid. or you could just run an rpm activated switch if you like. if you're positive you have vtec wired correctly then it could be an operational issue with the solenoid itself. also be sure you have the vtec oil pressure switch hooked up too. its directly below the solenoid and has a plug coming out of the housing.
