-> Need to know's when purchasing a used engine ....
What should I know/do before I go abouts purchasing an engine off of someone's car?
i've taken a test drive in it and the motor is strong and running fine.
1) will I just need to do a compression test, leak down test and vin backup check?
2) Also, are the VIN numbers on the car the same as the ones on the engine and tranny?
3) What exactly does 'papers' consist of?
since this is a private sale I need to know, thank you all for helping!

Oh yeah it would be better if you can watch the guy take the motor out. cause then you will know what your getting. and make sure he doesnt make mistake takening the motor out.. heheheheheheh
