Im trying to buy a gsr block 1996 and the guy says its legit but i wanna check myself. he didnt give me the vin but he gave me number under engine code

Does anyone know what that number is for because it is different on every block?
How can i look it up?

Call, or drive to the highway patrol...they'll give you an answer. The numbers tells how they can verify which motor belongs to which vehicle and if legit or stolen.
