Default Need Help on Engine Swap in a Del Sol!!!

Could anyone please help me on this. Currently I have a 93 Del Sol S and I want to change the engine. I've call Japan Auto part to get some pricing on the engine and there are two B16A, one with cable clutch and the other with hydraulic clutch. Pricing on it are $1650(Cable) and $3450(hydraulic). They told me I have to get the one with hydraulic clutch. My question is can I put the cable clutch engine in my car? Coz is cheaper and I know there are some mods require. Also, there is a site that sells a conversion kit for the cable clutch to hydraulic clutch. What about the ecu?? Japan Auto part told me the kit will include tranny, engine and the ecu but will I need to do mods on the ecu? Like wiring harness etc. Have anyone done this before??
Thanks your help in advance.

Alan

NO! u'r going to have a hard time swapping that cable b16a in ur del sol. best way is buy the hydraulic b16a, it'll save u a lot of trouble. don't buy an engine at japan auto, they're too expensive. if u want, u can spend another $550cdn and get a b18c1. try calling jk auto, trust auto or city auto, they should probably give u a good price ona b16a2.

Bad idea to go from a hydraulic clutch to a cable clutch. The following link has the b16a's SIRII for 2,500 and they have them in stock!!! http://www.jdmhondaparts.com/engines.htm It is for the complete car. The bonus of buying from them is that all thier engines are front clips, meaning that are shipped from japan still in the front half of the engine bay. Haven't even been removed unitll you are ready to buy. This shows that it is not a pieced engine. I went down there to see for myself and sure as **** the engine was in the front half of the car. I have found these engines as low as 1,999 back you have to pay first and then wait anywhere from 2-3 months for it to be shipped from Japan. That website is http://www.custom-efx.com/jdmengine.html

If getting another transmission is not an option, you can get a conversion kit for $225 from HASport ( www.hasport.com) that will bolt onto the cable tranny, and use your existing hydro setup to actuate the arm on the tranny.
