Default my skunk2 cams ok or no good???

two of my friends bought brand new skunk2 cams from the store and both sets got eaten up so i decided to check mine and noticed that it looks like one of the non vtec lobes are riding on the outside for a little bit. i would think this isnt the way its supposed to be but idk.

oh yea and these cams have only 304 miles on them

what do you think

look at the left lobe. the black coating is still on the center of the lobe and the outer part of the lobe the black coating wore off. to me it seems like its riding only on that part of the lobe

Its tough to see with that picture. It seems like the center of the lobe is worn as opposed to the outer part.

im not asking about the center lobe. im asking about the center portion of the left lobe. it looks like its not riding on it and that its only riding on the outer portion of the left lobe

I wasn't talking about the center lobe either lol. I was talking about the center of the left lobe. It looks opposite of what you're saying but its probably the low res picture. You check your lash? I'd send the pictures to skunk2 to see what they say about it. I just put my pro 2's in. I suppose I could take off my cover to see if its doing this as well.

If you cant feel a lip with your finger nail your fine . If your buddys had problems eating cams it was probably installation error. I was just talking to skunk about this very thing . People installing cams with out checking all the clearences . Im 90 percent sure i know why some people eat cams and some dont . Also why its not all the lobes just some of them and if you make sure all your clearences are right it want happen . My stage two cams have been beat on for five years when i pulled them they looked perfect . My pro 2s have been in there a year now and stilll look perfect. Always check your rockers to make sure there are no wear on them . Ive heard of running special additives in the oil to help with this but i never have and have never had problems .

I see what you mean and the cam is going to touch the highest spot on the rocker . it looks like that rocker is worn alot in the middle (probably from having a vavle adjusted to tight in a previous build) and needs to be replaced but your cams are fine . At the very least you could get them polished before putting them back in when you replace the rocker .
