Default Mini-me's and wannabe's and lower compression in 2018

I think this qualifies as hybrid/swap tech; mini me tech is readily available and the general consensus is just Z6/Y8 swap it rather than deal with the bs. well, I can't find a reasonably priced y8 or Z6 around here, I want to build something not just swap it and I have a trio of B2's to grenade.

with that out of the way, my questions;
1. Is there an alternative oem D15 piston that will drop compression?
I found loads of d16 info, but the 1.5's seem to all be the same. I have an alternative, but I'd rather not mangle a decent head to do it.
2. Is there any point in messing with a Y7 head over a B2 apart from a better selection of valve covers?
Ive seen loads of HOW write ups and nothing to say WHY. Also aware this isn't a mini me as such, but it's a back burner idea. I'll likely go with Z6/ZC VTEC, but everybody likes an underdog.

Its not a practical build, it's cheap fun to get the car mobile again.
