http://www.gomini.com Guys that do this in the US, super nice to deal with as well, I was talking to them a few months ago. Also, they'll throw in a B18C5 and have the whole car with suspension, brakes, whatever, for about $20000. That $35K price is bullshit.

If you guys are interested in this stuff, then you should find a copy of MiniWorld magazine! It covers things like rear engined Mini's and also motocycle engined Mini's. Way cool in garage innovation!!!
It seems like the British tend to think "out of the box" a lot more than us US guys. Of course there is also the fact that they can do a lot more legally than we can.

Here is a link to a site where the individual is using a motorcycle engine and doing 4 wheel drive. The site is quite large, but well worth reading.
http://www.dpcars.net/dp1/index.htm
You could also do a web search on "lotus 7 motorcycle". There are a bunch of sites where a motorcycle engine is used in a Lotus 7. It would be totally illegal here in the states, but sure looks like fun.

Re: (hondasport2000)
I saw one of these down at SEMA. I think that one had a B16 in it though I can't remember for sure. Either way it was pretty neat, looked like a hell of a fun road race car.

Yeh its cool, worth noting the guy driving and looking damn scared , is tiff needel, and ex F1 driver and previous conquests include setting the uk record for fastest lap in a production car, doing a 200mph+ lap of an oval in a Maclaren F1 beast of a car.
been out in a similar car with 1 bike engine and 140bhp, and that was stupid quick, that Z100 is daft, fastest 0-100 in the UK (quicker than the $1m maclaren F1 )and only $50,000

Re: Mini Cooper w/ a b18c1 engine (97Alex)
$3500 is just plain outrageous. Now If I could buy something like a $500 Hasport kit to do the job, it would be worth it. After all, I have several spare B-motors laying around (including a GSR). But I don't think this is possible.

Re: Mini Cooper w/ a b18c1 engine (StorminMatt)
the mini conversion is expensive due to the parts requried
Full front subframe
New bonnet, wings, and grill
front suspension and shocks
Custom shafts
brakes
gear linkage
wiring loom
throttle boddies
ECU
and more
Its more intesive than a K20EG more like a K20EF lots of custom work, but manic when finished
conversions range from $7000 up in the uk, less if you do some stuff yourself, link here http://www.watsonsrally.co.uk/

right on, the swap is awesome but nothing short of a huge fabrication work on the front end of the mini.
I would love to do one but I think there are other ways I would spend over 10grand..... like a RWD setup maybe?!
