lsvtec questions AGAIN
Ok. So I don't post or comment or ask for help much on here due to being able to find answers just by reading through post over the years.
now here is the question.
I built a lsvtec with b18a1 block bored out to 81.5mm using b16a pistons on pr4 rods. Gsr head with supertech valves and springs blox p2 cams, brian crower cam gears new gar oil pump and water pump with gsr timing belt. And hondata s300. Car the other day stalled while attempting to get on highway. When trying to restart acted like dead battery. Got it home via good neighbor tow. Looked over everything and nothing seems bound up no loose connections anywhere but when I got to the timing belt noticed that there was wear on the top of the belt close to the head. Mind you the damage is not on tooth side but on smooth side. What can cause this? And I probly need a new timing belt just in case, we're not talking about alot of wear but it is noticeable.
if you're still reading this I am sorry lol

If you didn't tension the belt correctly AND get a new tensioner spring, chances are it's from the belt slapping the inside cover. Acting like it had a dead battery would indicate bad/loose ground straps or a starter needing a rebuild. FYI rebuilding an OEM starter is cheaper & more reliable than a new chinese starter. If your ground straps are in poor condition, they're $15-20 new at the dealer.
That's kinda what I thought it might be. Thank you for the input. After posting I noticed the tranny ground had corrosion on the copper. The starter is brand new due to my fault on the old motor lol starters like having 2 bolts not 1 lol. The tensioner will be replaced since it was never replaced during the build. I tried not cutting corners on this thing but forgetting about grounds was one of the MOST important things to forget about. But im jabber jawing when I should be going to be. Thank you
