Default Ls/Vtec Swap Successful

Guys, I just completed my LS/VTEC swap in my 1990 Civic hatchback. All I did internally was the B16A1 piston with the B18A connecting rod, B16A2 intake cam, AEM cold air intake and I put down 171hp to the wheels at 7700 rpms. I love it, this thing pulls real hard. I used Avid Racing Motor mount kit and their shift linkage. I was really impressed with their engine mounts, real cool mettalic finish. Their shift linkage is brand new, its not 1990 Integra linkage cut and rewelded, it's actually all new parts they manufacture in Canada. Awesome pricing too. I would recommend this product, I feel it beats Hasport pricing significantly and out matches Place Racing's quality. I did a lot of reaserch on my swap and I'm really happy the way it turned out. My next step for next year summer time is throw a lower compression piston or thicker head gasket and slap a turbo to it. Any other LS/VTEC folks out there I'm interested to see how I compare.

Your motor will be sick, the nice thing about yours is that your using the GSR head and it has a larger combustion chamber, you'll get real good compression from your motor. See if you can get a handle of some aggresive cams, at least an intake cam if your not going to an aftermarket. Usually if you go aftermarket, depending on waht stage, you may want to upgrade the vavletrain as well. I'm curious to know how it will pull after, maybe dyno #'s too. What chassis is it dropping in.

i cant stand my avid linkage. It sucks. The mounts are ok but they dont line up as well as my hasports did.And my hasport linkage/mount set made the car feel nice and stock.Just how i like it.

Why did you switch from Hasport originally if there were good?
Maybe you are mistaken, but did you get Avid linkage for your 4 door teg?

Hey I am also throwing an LS vtec into my 90 hatch this is going to be my set up:

- 99 LS stock bottom end
- JDM b16a1 head with 98 GSR cams
- LS Cable Tranny
- PR3 ECU chipped spoon for 4500 vtec/no redline
- CAI
- Headers/exhaust
- Fuel Pressure Regulator

The reason for the LS tranny is to take full advantage of the LS torque. By raising the oil pressure and having VTEC open at 4500 I won't fall from my power band.
Good to see another LS vtec 90 hatchie. Good luck.

Nice Haven't dynoed mine yet, but hopefully with my mods I'm pushing close to 180 if not.

12:1 c/r milled head and resurfaced block
B16 head gsr cams
.25 over ITR pistons

Cleanly built!
