Default LS VTEC rods

Are the LS rods strong enough for a LS-VTEC setup. I have the ARP rod bolts. I just want to know if it is absolutely necessary to replace rods?

Let me tell you what I have for a setup! R pistons, block girdle, ARP rod bolts, ARP head studs, GSR water pump and oil pump! I think thats about it for the bottom end. SIR head with R manifold and CTR cams with ITR valvetrain!

Do you think I am safe to rev to 8000? I personally think I am!

I would like to here more info from others that have experienced a LSVTEC setup!!

Thanks!!!

I'm using the stock rods with the ARP bolts and I plan to rev to 8k and no further..the ECU i have was chipped with a 9200 rev limiter...so I'm going buy an MSD (with adjustible rev limiter)...set it at around 8200...just in case
