Default ls/ vtec questions

i hear that you should run oil squirters in an ls block when not using forged pistions. How do you run them if there is no place to mount them or no oil feed to them? Are they even needed if i'm only going to be revving to 8K rpms? Another question: Are ls rods the same size as itr rods?

i believe that oil squirters will not fit right into the ls block because the crank is bigger (correct me if im wrong) and no the rods are not the same size
