I just finished up my swap yesterday. It started up first try ran great at first. Now it will not stay started. It starts and then chugs for a second then dies. It will only start if you tap the gas. What the Hell is wrong? any help would be great.

 

Check fuel filter, check injectors for good wiring, check for correct fuel pressure, check plugs, wire, rotor, cap... Look for fuel pressure and spark first. Are you reusing your old distributor? Did it work fine before? Eliminate the things that you knew worked well before and check the things that were changed with the swap or used parts. Check the obvious things first.

Your timing belt may have skipped a tooth as well... double and triple check for correct timing. If it was not tightened correctly, it's possible for the engine to run well, then skip a tooth and run like ****. Check that. Check all that garbage and get back to us.

 

My bad......I had the knock sensor plug plugged into another plug. I changed it and bam it runs great. This new setup is badass. I smoked a GSR without ever breathing hard.
