(ls vtec hatch) code 23 after cruising at around 60mph, then holds a higher idle. wtf?
here is the situation. 92 civic hatch, ls vtec, jdm p30 ecu. starts up a little rough, has to hold a little bit of throttle for a few seconds to keep it alive. once it has run for a minute or so, idles smooth with decent throttle response. i think this has something to do with the type r manifold and throttle body. no check engine light at startup.
once the car is warmed up and cruising, the check engine light will come on, indicating a code 23. i think this is vtec related. vtec works, and the confusing thing is that the code doesn't show up immediately when the car is started.
also, after going into vtec, the idle will stay up around 1500 or so.
have replaced the map sensor, tps sensor, and tried different ecu's. a skunk2 chipped P28 would not run well at all.
anyone ever had this problem, and had it solved by changing the oil pressure sensor on the back of the block? have an extra one, would like to hear some opinions on what could be happening. thanks alot!
