Default ls/vtec cams?

I just did a ls/vtec swap in my car. B18c1 head b18b block. I want more power already. I was considering cams. Any suggestions spoon,pyr,toda,skunk2,type r? I don't want to loose any more low end in fact I need more low end. Really I just want more power.

well allthe jdm cams are mostly road racing cam'z they are made for mid-high end power. so check out dynos of different (jdm) crower cams at there site. They can manifacture any lift/duration cam you want special order not reground.

CTR or ITR or are they the same? And will I have to change my retainers and sprins if I put in these cams?

Does the head have to be removed to replace the valve springs and retainers?

What pistons do you have in the block? If you have the stock ls pistons you need to change those out, or you will get valve to piston contact with ITR cams and up.

Nope. The head will only have to be removed if the spring slips down into the head during installation and hard to come out. If you will be running those cams, then you will need to upgrade to itr pistons for better clearance. I also recommend getting the retainers to retain the pressure of the springs.

There will be enough valve clearance, but I recommend you go with itr's or b16 pr-3 for higher compression.
