Re: (numbnuts22715)
holy crap is that car for real?!
I had a 4dr legend, auto and the best i ever got with that was a 14.1 with a 75shot zex kit. good motor, just not many parts for it. I cant imagine how quick that car is with a turbo, rwd and in a lighter civic?! ahah ugly car, but cool powerplant n drive train.

Re: (EKhothatch)
this Civic with the Legend V6 brings up a question for me:
If Volkswagen has the R32 Golf (3.2 Liter 240 HP V6 hatch), then why can't Honda make a Civic hatch with the 240 HP 3.0 Liter from the Accord V6 or even the 270 HP 3.2 Liter from the Acura TL?
What a great combination that would be! The Volkswagen R32 is a nice machine except it is too heavy and even with 240 HP it still only does a 14.1 quarter, not bad, but if it weighed 2700 Lbs. (not unreasonable in my opinion), it would be in the 13's. And 2700 Lbs. with the 270 HP TL engine would get you to about 13.4.
Honda reliability, no turbo hassles, tons of torque, why not?

Re: (DavidR)
yeah, I know it is wishful thinking, but something to discuss as I am kinda bored here
obviously the market for one would be small, so the money that would go into producing one would most likely translate into too high a cost (similar R32 runs over $30K, too much for any Golf in my opinion, $25K? maybe)
but strictly from a mechanical standpoint, why not? back in the eighties GM made V6 Cavaliers (3.1 Liter), and they performed decently.

Re: (RemoveGiantWingOnYourCar)
If honda has a hard time justifying the S2000 (with below 15k production numbers per year globally), think they could justify something like this, which might peak 2-3k, and only in the US?

Re: (RangerDan)
yeah, the S2000 is a good example, i think it is great Honda made it, but if that car weighed 2400 Lbs (under the hood there is a good foot of wasted length in my opinion) it would perform way better than it already does. A 2.2 Liter 4 cylinder hauling around a 2835 Lb. car just isn't as good as it could be. If it were built more like a Miata it would be a vast improvement. Why waste weight on a dual exhaust for example? An awesome powerplant in too heavy a car.
