Default Knock sensor bypass?

I have a ls/vtec with CTR pistons. I am using a pr3 ecu. I am also using a 95 GSR knock sensor. I keep getting a code 23 even though I am using a sheilded wire.
Is there anyway to baypass the knock sensor without rechipping?
I did a search and heard yes they have and no it is impossible?
HELP!

Mine is simply grounded to the firewall. No code at all.
