Knock sensor
my friend is doing a 94 B18C1 into his civic/ex, and i also have a few questions to my hybrid.............
1: Knock Sensor, if not wiring the KS do we get a CEL? what does this sensor excatly do?
2: Does pulling out the ECU and unpluging it for a while and puting it back together reset the ignition timing?
3: how restrictive to making power can a smaller cat and a cloggly fuel filter be?
thanks in advance.................

Re: Knock sensor (hybrider93)
1. Not wiring up the knock sensor will definitely give you a check engine light (and may not allow VTEC to activate). The sensor senses knock in the engine (or detonation) which is bad. If it senses knock it retards the timing as to eliminate the detonation.
2. I believe that ignition timing is set by the placement of the distributor. It is only controlled by the ECU when knock is detected.
3. An exhaust only flows as wells as its most restrictive component.
