i have NO idea where to post this.. so i'll leave it in a couple places:

i've run a search, but found no result. i'm looking to drop a K20 into a DC2 chassis. this will NOT be a drag car. as such, i am wondering if anyone can tell me how the motor sits in the chassis, as opposed to the b-series motors. if it sets farther back, i'm stocked. but if it sets FORWARD, than i'm gonna kill the idea 'cause i like how my car handles.
also:
what would i do about a gauge cluster? anyone have any ideas about that? i'm aware of the mounts i need, etc.
anything i'm missing? i'm 100% sure i want to try this if it fits how i want, but need to be sure it will work out okay before i start selling off stuff to save up the $$$.

Wells, hes right. Search would be easier then to wait for a reply. So many questions to be anwsered. Lots of useful information here in this hydrid thread...

i understand, but a quick "yes/no. the motor does not sit any further forward than the B18, so the handling will/will not be adversley affected" would have sufficed.

either way, the tech guys in the type-r forum answered my question perfectly. [sarcasm] thanks for all the help, guys [/sarcasm]

From what Ive heard and read its a better dist. then the b series. And in my eg it sits a tiny bit back not much though.

very nice. everyone is saying the motor is lighter.. and if it doesn't sit as far forward, that would be a very good thing. in fact, if it's BACK, that would own. i'll check with hasport.

K-series is heavier.

I was pretty sure that K-series was lighter than the B18/B20 series by about 20 pounds or so.

Where do you get the idea that it is heavier?

I used to be a moderator on k20a.org, Nikos had a friend in a wharehouse that weigh a K-series and of course B-series.

K-series (k20) was heavier.

its heavier than a B16 and box by about 4lbs.. so they are much the same..
I think it was around the 400lbs mark..

it really depends on what the k20a r comes with etc.. The stock header for example is heavy and can make a difference...

They are about the same weight... Sometimes a b18c r swap can be heavier with stock header or lighter with mugen header etc etc...

5-10 lbs is not going to affect anything...

Locash used corner scales and he got a few pounds more for the B than the K...

Brian Wong was about to mail one to my friend and he happened to have a JDM b18c r swap there too so that is how I know... on his flatbed scale it made a 5-10 lb difference...

I guess what we needed to do was weigh each engine BLOCK or something...but since it hardly makes a difference ---&gt; wutever.
