Re: K series shifter box with H22 swap?
I have the Hybrid Racing adapter for the K-Series shifter and cables. It works like a charm. The ONLY thing I really don't like about it are the bolts that come with the kit with the hex head. The lone bolt near the front of the car will take you FOREVER to tighten (using an allen key) because there is so much in the way! And you cannot reuse your OEM bolts because they will be way too long. Other than that, my car shifts like a champ finally, and I even used the K-Tuned shifter mounting kit. It DOES fit, if any of you out there have ever heard of a bench grinder (for those of you with a del Sol)!
FINALLY... smooth-like-butter shifting AND a full interior in a del Sol with no ripped shift boots!

Hey all... a couple of install pics for those of you trying the Hybrid Racing route with a Karcepts / K-Tuned shifter mounting kit. I would like to thank the crew at Hybrid Racing for coming up with a piece that was long overdue.
A couple of things... First of all, if you are doing this with a del Sol, plan on hitting up the shifter mounting kit with a bench grinder. And second, if you have an EG chassis (perhaps someone can confirm with DC and EK chassis as well?) you CANNOT run both cables underneath the chassis. The longer cable can go underneath (and make sure you run it between the steering rack and the firewall so the cable doesn't hang below the rack, and also one of the factory retainers to mount it to the spot on the frame to keep it away from the exhaust), BUT you have to put another hole in your exhaust tunnel big enough to run the shorter cable through (the one on the left). It is NOT possible to run this cable underneath the car with an H-series transmission. I really don't know why nobody has mentioned this yet but that cable MUST go out through the firewall above the T-bracket.
Anyways, to the pics. The RSX Type S shifter moves the shift **** about an inch closer to the driver. Sorry I really couldn't get a good photo of the Hybrid Racing piece, but the hoses get in the way:

Hahaha just got mine in today and omg I ******* love it I used stock k20 shifter box and cables mounted the box on top of the tunnel no problem shifter sits kinda high but I like it like that honestly I ran both cables exaclt how I had them setup for the h22 under the tunnel and above the sub frame but your idea with the shorter cable through the firewall seems like a better idea because it is shorter I'm going to try that tomorrow anyway here's a pic with my blox shift ****

Re: K series shifter box with H22 swap?
So if I do a K-Tuned Shifter Box, K-Tuned Cables, and the Hybrid Racing Bracket on my H22 everything should work great? Really interested in trying this set up, just want to make sure I understand correctly.

Re: K series shifter box with H22 swap?
Hey guys, I'm a avid h22 fan and started in the h game back in 2008 when I put together a h22a eg hatch on 8psi....was a fun car but I did go through 2 blocks from cracking ringlands and gave it a break and built a n/a z6 motor for my dd instead.I just threw in a mildly built h22 into my dd with a m2b4 trans in august of 2011 and have never had to bang gears in it like I had to when it was boosted and sometimes getting into the gears was a hit or miss as some of u guys know.
So I opted to with the hybrid racing h/f bracket and the rsx shifter setup and its 10 times better than the hseries box but the 1st time driving the car was at import madness at new england dragway and couldn't catch 3rd for the life of me....turned out one of my cables were stretched and had a break in

Re: K series shifter box with H22 swap?
......it so I came ip on another set of cables for $50 and they were great....I've never full throttled my h setup before and now the car moves a lot better with not granny shifting and thr rpms staying up in each gear. Only drove the car like that once last week but went for a ride today and the car wouldn't even go into reverse, it took me like legit 2mins to finally get the gear in andthen I came to find out 2nd gear was not going in at high rpms. Is there a common link between 2nd and revers on the hseries trannys and could it just be the cables acting up again....need to know asap. Trying to run this car at IFP next weekend, thanks
