If it's stock pistons, better leave the SiR/GSR cams in there. Otherwise, if you upgrade to ITR cams, you cannot advance the intake cam timing more than 4 degrees before the valves start slapping against the shallow valve relief on the B20 piston. If you have aftermarket high comp pistons with deep valve reliefs, then you can get whatever you want.

i'll be using endyn pistons w/ eagle rods. so, it doesn't matter which cams to use? want something good for the street and occasional drag strip. i want cams that will pull hard throughout the rpm range. i am guessin that the ITR cams will be better suited for what i want. any opinions?

For a lot of street use, I'd suggest the CTR cams... a few of my friends run it on their mildly modded motors and it pulls great for what they're worth. Other friends of mine who run JUN cams all shift their cars at very high rpms and mainly race their motors at the track on a weekly basis. I'm not saying that you can't drive on the street with them... they all still do that. But the JUN (Toda, or any other high lift cams) are all designed for high-rpm use and "real" racing, but still work just fine on the street for daily driving. Still, don't knock Type R cams.... still pull much better over stock GSR/SiR cams and still pull good up to around 8500..... JUN pull good to 9500 (where one of my friends shift at on his stroker 2.0L motor). Just all depends on what type of drivng/racing you're gonna be doing and how much you wanna spend.

ITRs are a mid-range cam that dominate the type-3 until 7000, where the ITR starts to fall off and the Type-3s keep on going..

Based on the all-street, occasional track setup, ITRs all-the-way.. good luck, and let us know when u get them in and how u like 'em..

The TODA Spec As may be a good compromise...

I second the toda spec A's. Seem to be an awesome street cam. Check the itr forum and a do a search on toda spec A's and you shall get lots of info on them.

Spec B's are even better than A's...their like a cross bred of ITR and JUn3's
(gives you good overall power at a ussable powerband)

with the JUN type III would you need to use a JDM style 4-1 header. i have been told that these cams like to breath. so i would guess that a bigger header would be in order. also what kind of times do u think it would net in a CX hatch with a JDM b16 with AEM CAI and 2.25" thermal exhaust. would these cams get the car into mid 14's.

Question! With a B20Vtec and aftermarket pistons, doesn't the Toda cam get ruled out? Help me out here. I thought I remember reading that Toda cams only work with OEM or Toda pistons. Correct me if I'm wrong. I'm still learning about this CRVtec too.

No, not totally true. I have run OEM pistons with the Spec C cams, and now the Endyn pistons. No problems at all...

the only way the pistons could be an issue concerning a cam is piston-to-valve clearance, but since it's adjustable and within spec, it's not a problem.. i've never heard of there being such a problem with the crvtec setup..
