JDM swap
ok i finished the swap but i ran into one prob. there is no fuel. when i use my friends obd conversion harness from his 99 si and plug in my b18c1 ecu the is no fuel from the fuel pump. then when i plug in my stock obd II ecu into the harness i get fuel but the car will not start. it just cranks and cranks. heres the thing, when i have the gsr ecu plugged in and spray some starting fluid in it it kicks on easy and then shuts off as soon as the starting fluid runs out.
any ideas i am ready to just start pounding on things with a big @ss hammer.

Ok
let me give you a little advice
when asking a tech quesiton like yours, the following information MUST be included.
1) year of your car
2) year of your motor
3) what ECU you are using
4) what wiring harness are you using (On the engine AND if any OBD conversion harnesses are used, wich ones)

Re: JDM swap (letsride)
sorry i am a bonehead. i have been working on this for the past week.
the car is a 98 hx
the motor being put in is a 96 JDM GSR, block reads b18c
(so i was told, but i was alos told there is no GSR in japan)
i used my hx engine harness and but conected all the conecters from the jdm harness were i needed to
skunk 2 obd conversion harness from my friends 99 si
i tried both the p72 that came withthe swap and a p28 mugan chiped
the knock senser, secondaries and one senser that sits directly ontop of the manifold are not hooked up yet becuase iam waiting for my skunk conversion harness to come in the mail.

Re: JDM swap (sleeprhatch)
i do believe 99 si harness is diff than 98. also you don't have the other sensors hooked up. i would finish the wiring first
OBDIIa and OBDIIb

Re: JDM swap (KAMiN)
so when i finally do get the conversion harness for my car it should work then right, considering if i wire up all the rest of those sensers?
also i was thinking of getting my p72 rechipped with a spoon, does anyone know anything about this chip, good or bad?

Re: JDM swap (kuelerz)
ok so i talked to the place where i bought my engine and they said the same thing, different wiring harnesses. i will get the right one on wednesday.
as far as the o2 senser goes, the primary o2 has a 6 wired plug and the secondary has a four. the harness will plug in using the wires for the secondary, should i use them or do i need to adapt the primary lug to fit the jdm o2 senser with four wires?
