JDM OBD1 B16A in 00 Civic EX - trying to get rid of CEL for ckp
My brother has a 00 civic ex coupe that blew the motor 3 years ago. I had an jdm obd1 b16a sitting in my barn from a previous project that I threw in for him to get him on the road again. I put a 00 civic si ecu in it, re-pinned the distributor; alternator; and injectors, and the ckp bypass trick to get it running. He has been driving it for 3 years with the cel on and not a legal inspection sticker haha. It needs to have registration renewed now but because it hasn't had an inspection in 3 years the NYS dmv wants an inspection to be performed before they will renew it. It's now time to deal with the CEL so I have a few questions.
Will a 00 civic si oil pump bolt up to this block because they look quite a bit different on myhondapartsstore.com?
If so will the original oil strainer bolt up to the new oil pump?
Any idea what I will need besides the pump, sensor, crankshaft timing belt gear, and miscellaneous hardware?
