My brother had the same symptoms, but diff car. He replaced the fuel filter and it runs fine. Maybe that's your prob? Well, hope you figure it out. Engine problems suck.

42 psi at idle and 50 psi at WOT is way too high for the 340cc injectors. That is the correct fuel pressure for the OBDII 290's. you want about 30 psi at idle and about 40 psi at WOT. If you can't get you pressure down that low, drill a pin sized hole in the bottom of the fpr. There is a detailed writeup floating around somewhere telling exactly how to do this. IMO, this is most likely the source of your problems.
Also, I wouldn't run 89 octane on 10.6:1 comp. ECU might be pulling timing via the knock sensor. you might have to bite the bullet and run premium. My H22 hates anything less than premium (it's tuned, however).
