JDM b18c vs JDM b18c LSD
Which is better to get for overall reliability? I'm afraid the LSD version would be more driven into the ground more so than the w/o LSD version. Is there any truth to this?
Also, the engine i was going to buy , a 94-95 JDM b18c was quoted to have only 80kilometers or equal to roughly 50k miles. is this possible? nearly ten year old engine with only 50k miles? am I being scammed?

50k is fine, in japan they have certain laws pertaining to how long you can have your motor because of polution, so they have to rebuild the motor or buy another one. lsd version may have been driven harder but you never know for 300 more its not that bad of a gamble.

Yeah, I got my engine (jdm B18C with LSD) from www.jdmhondaparts.com and I got a nice, clean, engine. They said it had under 40K on it and it looked it. Started right up too. I guess it would depend on who owned it before and their driving habits. I would go with the LSD equipped hands down. It's worth the gamble.

Mine looked as if it came from a four door integra because it was so damn clean! However i did not get lsd(Even though i did order it with the lsd from jdmclubsucks.com
It even had on the reciept B18C LSD. Anyways get it with lsd if you can, but dont worry to much either way.
Ohh and by the looks of my clutch, it had about 40-50,000 on the motor and the oil left in the head was a honey color Its a 93 engine that came in the 94's and upso with it being ten years old and comparing it to my 93 dx's d-series, it was in hella good condition! -To answer your question, no you are not getting ripped off AS LONG AS its from a reputable dealer and not teh one i went through.

I rather cough up an extra $300 bucks for a oem lsd then spend $800 bucks plus labor to get it install(for those who are not machanically incline). just my .02

Go for the lsd, it is worth the chance. Most people in general don't drive that hard. A lot of people would have been conned into paying the extra 800 up front because, "it gives better traction and is safer". I know my parents would, hehe. Goodluck with it.

Heh, this myth still survives. The only thing they have to worry about is a very strict emissions and car inspection at around the 30k/3yr, it costs a couple thousand for this inspection. Alot of people tend to use that inspection money towards just buying another car, thus a fairly high turn over rate in vehicles.
