jdm b16aII swap into 2g teg?? complications??
if anybody has done this, help! what complications can i expect. i found a jdm b16a II motor with tranny from nippon motors.cm or totaljdm but what i want to know is the wiring going to be too complicated. i understand the linkage and mounts may be small issues, what else can i expect? will belts, sensors and other things that may need to be replaced be available at the parts stores (in washington state)?? HELP. my motor is shot and i want to replace it with a more powerful motor.. thanks for any input . i'll check back later or tomorrow.

I believe that a 2gen is 90-93, you would prolly be better getting one of these

or 0bd1

Re: jdm b16aII swap into 2g teg?? complications?? (91gs4dr)
The fact that the tranny is hydro instead of cable would be the biggest issue. You could adapt the HASport EF cable to hydro setup but you will still need to work up an upper tranny mount. You "could" reuse your cable tranny but the gearing isn't ideal for a VTEC motor. The second gen B16A could be either OBD1 or OBD2 which will complicate the wiring some if you have an OBD0 90-91 Integra. You will need to either convert the wiring to the new OBD or backdate electronics to the first gen OBD0 B16A.

of course it has been done. you can get a 1st gen b16 and if its a 92 i think you can use your LS dizzy and it will be odb1, you would need an obd1 vtec ecu though. I am also curious if the linkage / mounts and other misc is the same between the two. You would think it is. .

Yes you "could" use the LS distributor if you feel like chopping a leg off and having slightly less timing adjustment.

thanks guys. so i'd be better off with the b16a 1st gen than the 2g b16a? well seeings how its the motor is jdm, will the wiring harness and clutch line and other stuff get too complicated? i can't even find a mechanic in my area who will do this swap, even the ones in the yellow pages named HONDA/ACURA SPECIALIST, SPECIALIZING IN HONDA/ACURA, ETC... can you believe that..!
