J30A1 3.0L V6 swap into my cb7
Hey - i just got sent over this way from someone on cb7tuner.com... ...like my thread says - I'm looking to drop the J30A1 from our 98 LX into my 93 DX
I'm looking for tips on cooling and motor mounts mostly - I also understand that location of accessories is reversed between the 4gen and 6gen accords... ...any thoughts on that would help, too
We don't plan on doing this until next summer, when my husband does a full 3.5 RL conversion on his car... so his motor will be lying around doing nothing
I just want to get everything planned out and have the money and plans ready so i can throw down on this car
thanks in advance
(p.s. - i don't want to hear anything about "just do an H22" or anything else -- I'm tired of that... If you don't have any tips on this specific swap... don't bother - I'm not trying to be an ***, but just don't bother)

Re: J30A1 3.0L V6 swap into my cb7 (notyouraveragegirl)
p.s. i also searched and found an archived thread on this... but it didn't help me
CL type S tranny will fit... or the 5-spd manual trans from a 2001 accord (same engine (J30A1)also so i'm not concerned about the transmission
thanks again

is your current car an auto or manual? and is the new tranny with your engine the 6speed, or the auto?
not too much advice but i really wanna hear how this goes

Re: J30A1 3.0L V6 swap into my cb7 (Se7ens Travels)
my 93 is a 5 speed - J block is not ... plan to do a transmission conversion as well
I know the '01 J30A1's were offered w/ a (5) speed option ... I was recently told to look into the CL type S tranny, but as for that one in particular, i haven't done the research

Im not necessarily that attached to the a/c ... my current one doesn't work anyway
worries now are on possible ground clearance issues with the transmission ... any thoughts would be appreciated

Re: (KraZEtEggIE)
so they molded a civic hood ONTO the accord hood? interesting....
i measured the engine bays of both cars yesterday - firewall to fan are pretty much the same, and width is bigger on the 98 by about 2 inches... just haven't got to measure the depth, but I have a feeling they're similar
