Right now its just a stock J32A1 with the ebay headers and 2.5" exhaust. Used an AEM rather than a stock computer. Future plans for the motor are building a spare J32A2 I have, custom intake manifold, Big single turbo, and some DD-Tech cams.
have you track it? i am planning going that rout but wanna see 1/4 mile times. planning j32a2 though

You are looking at low 12s with slicks and high 11s with good luck.

The one thing I will have to do is a pair of coil overs to get back my factory ride height which was 7 inches from the ground which is currently 5 inches due to weight. It's not the j32a1 but that wasn't the card i was dault so I can't complain I get more hp and torque then the last d16y7 could ever put out. The one thing I would try is the j30a1's intake if it is possible to bolt on top of the j32a1 to make the clearance a lil lower. If your using hasport stuff good luck because they set your future in stone so you have no other options if they are your only source of mounts. The one thing that did work for me was tilting the engine forward a lil bit which took off some height and made things more realistic and made sure the axles shafts lined up but I have to have custom axles because the hasport setup is manual transmission which is a different axle length.
My setup is all custom fabrication because I choose the path of automatic transmission which is not the best route because manual transmission is exciting option but not affordable being a working student.
Honda automatic transmissions are so easy and cheap to rebuild it's insane that people won't attempt a repair. The only thing wrong with them from the factory is that honda took a short cuts and put cheap discs in and a bad bearing which is so easy to fix a little kid could pull out of the differental with no tools.
how did you go about the mounts with an auto trans? did you happen to document your work. i would really be interested in your knowledge mate. i am currently looking into doing a j swap as i have a full working donor accord cm6, j30a4 auto, it has rear damage so was hoping to salvage everything else. I would be eternally grateful for any info you can share with me. cheers

Greetings!
New user and didn't know where else to post. I am an experienced builder working on a fun car for the weekends. I am currently working on a 1962 Mini Cooper IMSA car. I am going to install a J32A2 with 6 speed manual in the rear of the car. Sub-frame is all set up and ready. I plan on using the AEM standalone ECM. That part doesn't bother me at all. I found a 6-speed manual tranny with 108K miles on it, but still need to purchase the engine. I have seen a couple of posts in various forums regarding changes to be made to take a J32 Auto to set it up for Manual. My question (1st of many) is how much of the long list of parts would pertain to me since my engine/tranny won't be going back into a Honda/Acura car?

The stock 62 had a curb weight of 1,344 pounds with a 54 hp cast iron 4 cylinder. My target curb weight is 1,700 pounds. I would like to do any mods to the engine short of a turbo/supercharger to get the output up over 300 hp. I would appreciate any help there as well.
Cheers!

Its easier to work on in my Civic than in my Odyssey and maybe my mother-in-law’s Accord.

What chassis is it in? That will help determine which route we can go with parts since what would work in the Accord chassis may not necessarily work in a Civic.

Hey what’s going on y’all, I have a 2012 Honda civic ex and I’m wondering which j series would give me the least hassle ig. Would Hondas j35 or acuras j32a2 v6 be easier on the wiring aspect? I’m in automotive so I’m still learning, what I was planning to do is swap everything according to what we learn in my class so I have a better understanding of every part. I’v been doing my own research which lead me here, so can anyone help me? Any ideas for what I’d need, would really help and yes I know I’d have to fab some stuff.

Are you going to weld them into your chassis ? The basic layout of the mounts for the V6 is completely different that those found in your current engine/cradle application.

I have a 98 Acura cl with a j30a1 motor and am looking to see what manual transmissions are compatible. Anyone have any information? Or maybe a more reliable auto transmission for the j30a1 motor that what my cl came with from factory?
