if you want to use a p-28 you should get it chipped...better fuel and timing curved for the larger motor/ injectors. if using the gsr or type r ecu..plug and play...

can i get a quick overview of the ECU #.. ex p28 is obd1... p72 is obd2.. those are the only 2 right (for honda/acura).. does the p28 not come in gsr ITR... is that why everyone used the p28 cuz they can be chipped and are better for tuning??

it sort of like the ITR ECU but a obd1 version. But what I know it eats up a lot of gas. But if u tune it w/ Vafc then u'll notice.

P72 = OBDI / 94-95 B18C1
P72 = OBDII / 96-01 B18C1
P73 = OBDII / 96-99 B18C5
HTH......
Thanks for the heads up Kenji.....

It does not have to be a 5 speed ECU. You can easily convert an auto P28 to a manual P28.
OBD2 ('96-'01) GS-R ECUs are labeled P72 and not P62.
I have chipped P28 ECUs in stock and ready to ship for $225. Email me if you are interested.
