Default Insuring a hybrid

Hey, please dont flame me if this is a repost. I did a search and couldnt find anything. It is also a noob question. What do you guys do about insuring your hybrid? I only pay $100/month for my 93 del sol insurance. I'm worried that it might go up a lot once i get my gsr swap. I also feel like I should have it covered considering hondas are a target for many thieves. So what do you all do? Thanks,

Ryan

if you don't report it then you get the value of the stock car (possibly few extra bucks if you have recits but its next to impossible) if anythign happens

if you do report it they might not insure it or your rates will be sky high.

most peeps, just declare the cosmetics and nothing more, later you pay the price if anything happens

I didn't tell my insurance company anything, when i did my swap. But when my CRX got totalled, I got the Blue book value for the car plus I had $7000 in receipts. I only got back 70% of my $7000 but i was able to buy the car back for $500 and keep everything in it. This was not quite what I had put into the car, but you have to account for deprication. But i had already paid it off.$1000. So the car was mine . .....no loan.

My insurance is $448 a year for my 93 Cx. Already paid for 2003 total and will keep it the same once I drop the GSR in within the next couple weeks. I can't imagine how much more I would have to pay for up'ing the HP more than 100%. Besides they may pull some crap saying I have to get the vehicle to pass emissions or some $hit.

I just got to know if I wreck it and it's my fault I will be screwed.
Either way I would have the car towed to my house, take the GSR out and have the d15 back in or sitting next to it

One thing that you may want to think about when talking to your insurance agent;

Always state that the reason that you did the engine swap was that the original engine had excessive milage and was worn out. It needed to be replaced and it was more cost effective to swap in a newer engine. This is due to the limited amount of "original" engines in junk yards that have reasonable milage on them.

My 89 SI has 310,000 miles on it and this is the reason that I'm going to swap in a B18C. Honest!! I didn't even think about the fact that there may be more horsepower.
