Default Ignition problem

I have a 1976 Australian Mini with a 1997 ( I think) JDM B16A. I swapped it in a few years ago. I have lost all spark. I'm trying to figure out how to trouble shoot it. Cap and rotor don't look bad, but I guess I can swap them just for good measure. Ditto for the plugs and wires. A couple questions. 1. Any way to actually test the coil? 2. The ingnitor, also I guess called a ignition control module. Autozone wants $300 for it. RockAuto has several cheaper, but I'm not sure which one I need. Tough to look up the part by year and model, since its not in a Honda. Do I look up parts for a Honda Civic SI? Acura Integra GSR? Anyway, mine has E12-303 Hitachi written on it if that helps. Any preferred parts source? I don't want to buy junk, but $300 seemed a little steep. Any good step by step suggestions how to trouble shoot it?
