iacv madness on a DX b20z
i am really getting aggravated at the iacv CEL and the car running terrible. i have been using the DX Ecu because that is the only one that makes the motor run OK for some crazy reason.
i thought going obd1 would solve all my problems so i got an ecu and the adapter harness and plugged it up. and once again i am getting IACV CEL. i know the ecu and harness are working fine because they are from a friend's car.
I know the IACV works correctly because the w/ the dx ecu the car runs OK (idle jumps around a little but that's only with the A/C off).
hopefully someone has has experience with this....

my hatch is a 98.
i should also mention that i have re-pinned the A14 to A12 for the IACV. i checked the wiring on the iacv plug tonight and i have the yellow/black (power) near the top of the plug and the other wire (sensor) below that. i heard this was the corrects set-up for using a 2 wire plug.
as of tonight i got the obd1 to run with no check engine lights and a good idle. unfortunately the car still runs terrible. there is huge dead spots in the throttle. you can stomp on it and not go anywhere a large part of the rpm range.
thanks in advance for any suggestions

well it's another day and my problems haven't changed. i traced my IACV wires and it is wired just as i read on a post here. can someone please verify i have the correct 2-wire set-up on the IACV (yellow/ black wire near the top of the plug and the other wire below that). Also, i assume by the top of the plug people mean the side with the clip you press to pull the plug out.
also i know a 98 DX requires re-pinning the a14 to a12 to run the obd2 integra ecu but what about an obd1 integra ecu? still need repinning or no?
maybe i haven't reset the ECU correctly also, i unplugged the power side and let it sit for a few minutes before restarting.
i would really appreciate any ideas on this because i am still having to use a SOHC DX ecu 3 months after my swap and the lean mixture can't be good for my motor.
