Default IAC help please

ok guys my idle is going from about 700-1500 and droping and so on, BUT as soon as i unplug the IAC on the back of the manifold the idle goes perfect, 500 perfect nothing wrong. Since it is acting thisway i asume it is not a vacuum leak.

Should i replace my IAC?

The IAC could be faulty. If the IAC valve has 2 wires in its harness, connect the IAC directly to battery voltage with a pair of jumper wires. positive to black/yellow wire and negative to black/blue wire. the IAC should click each time the voltage is applied. if not it is faulty. NOTE do not apply voltage to valve any longer than necessary to hear the valve click. if the valve clicks then there is another plug on the back side of the engine cant remember what it goes to but try switching the plugs and that may be your problem. hope this helps
