I want to do an ls vtec.
I have a complete ls motor that runs, but now i guess i need a vtec head. can anyone give me a goood link on this, or thread. also, ive heard that you can do a ls vtec without drilling any holeinto your block, is this true? I haven't researched this very much, i'm just seing if i can get some good sources before i start on this.
to clarify youd actually be drillin holes in the head...but someone i forget who had some new chromoly dowel pins that you wouldnt have to drill the head whether it be a type r, gsr, or b16...all a choice of preference. I like the gsr head because of higher compression, but its a little more $$$ than a b16 which is the same head as a type r. B16 flows a little better but a P&P gsr head cant be beat! IMO that is...neways start doing some research...that wil get you started.
It depends what you want to do with the ls/vtec. If you want to go all motor get some high compression pistons and build up your block and go from there... If you want to boost stick with the ls or gsr pistons and go from there.

I have an ls vtec great engine. Has a lot of torgue to it. It's an ls block with a GSR head. the head has been ported and polished. I'm getting new pistons, sleaves and rod bolt. Before you put the engine make sure you upgrade the rod bolts. The ls isn't built for that high of rpms just change them and you are good.
Go to a honda sport shop and buy a book on it. I have a book that shows a step by step build of an ls vtec. They build it to 477 hp. I can't remember the name of it but you should be able to find it.
