h22 auto tensioner sucks ass!

Default h22 auto tensioner sucks ***!

took me like 5 trys to get this peice in correctly!

just a little venting....dam honda wasnt open, i didnt have the "tension holder" tool.
finally used just a zip tie and was very careful puting it in!

don't keep it that way! I hate the auto tensioner as well...

just switch to an h23 manual tensionor.

the dam thing is i have the thing in there and its not comin out! i can see how it works well, just as long as you dont leak any oil the thing tightens like a bitch!

i heard when ever you change the timeing belt on the h22 the tensioner goes bad would it be better to use the one off the h23 or the h22?

well from what ive heard and seen the tensioner is working just fine....its a pretty well put together mechanic but i can def. see where it could fail, not too worried though...the timing belt that came off the car was perfect but for peice of mind i went with a new belt...just as long as theres oil in the tensioner than it would work fine, also i dont think my motor has seen much past 25k miles. pulled the pan and the head, everything was neat and fresh!

the h22 tensionor is an auto tensioner. the h23 is manual. I would definitely with an H23 tenioner.

having a hydraulic held tensioner holding the timing belt isn't comfortable for me anyway.

i know of hydro tenstioners that have gone bad and blown engines.
not good.
