I really NEED YOUR HELP!!
I have a 2000 gsr motor, i usd to own a vx so the swap went just fine. Now i crashed that car and i have 95 civic CX...the vtec is not in the harness for the car. SO the shop i worked at told me to switch the gsr harness off the car and put on the d15 harness and it should work, i really doub tit, i would have to change to a b16 dist. and a diff alternator. I think that is not right. But anyways i swapped the motor in , and i plugged all the connectors (except for vtec) hybridgarage.com says to manually pi n in the vtec solenoid, vtec pressure, iab, and a few others...but the car is barely runnign with out the whole vtec additon, i dont think it should be like that. I HOPE SOME OF YOU ALL HAVE SWAPPED OR KNOW OF GSR SWAPS IN CX's
I know the pins are goign to have to be added i just dont understand why its not starting at all...i mean i have to try really hard to get it to crank and start and if it runs i have to floor the pedal and as soon as i release it stops...and when it runs it sounds as if itss running on 2 cyl.

Well, you seem to have the idea of what is going on.
1st move -correct -using your stock harness is the way to go!
2nd -adding the vtec wiring needed can be done down the road -you should make sure everything runs correctly before tapping into any wires if you are not fully sure of what you are doing.
The engine should run/start fine without having any of the VTEC wiring done.
Couple of things -first -you did you get the distributor pluged in? Did you try to do the wiring yourself on it? If so, double, triple check the wiring. The colors are extremely close for different wires.
Other thing, when it does start -any codes??
You might have by mistake plug in something that should go to another sensor. Like maybe your TPS and MAP are swapped, or another sensor. Try to look again and see if maybe you did something incorrectly.
Other things -Assuming it run correctly in the other car -right? How long did it sit around for?

I know it sounds dumb but double check the fireing order on the plug wires.
If every thing is wired up correctly the car should start and idle fine without vtec wired in.
