How to tell if ecu is for auto or manual?
Well im trying to buy a obd1 p72 ecu and I was looking for how to tell if the ecu is for an automatic or manual? I read that if the bar code has like the second to last number is an "A" then its for an auto is this true? Or you can open it up and look at these prong things if it has three its a auto and if it has one its a manual? Can somebody help me out with this? thanks

USDM came only 5spd so no worries.
JDM ODBI P72 (GSR) ecus came 5spd/auto. JDM 5spd is a small case type ECU (about 1/2 the size of USDM and has three plugs), while the auto JDM ecu is a 'large' case or USDM size case with 4 plugs
37820 = honda ECU number
P72 = type of ECU (P72 = GSR, P13=H22A prelude, P28=sohc vtec si/ex...)
A00 or A01 or A02 or C00 or C01/2 or J00/01/02 designates the following
a=USDM, C= canadian, j=JDM, 01/02/03/00 designates the 5spd ECU. while
A51/A50/A52 or 900 or 901 or 902 or N51 or N50 designages auto ecu (basically when the second # is a 5 or first number = 9 then its a Auto)
