Default how long have u had ur hybrid?

how long has it been since you did ur swap?
where did you get ur motors? I.A.S....etc...?
what problems have u encountered since ur swap?
what are some problems to expect with ur swap?
and last, is it as reliable as if you bought it like that brand new off the lot?

sorry for the interogation. just want some insight

i did my swap a little over 3 years ago and have NEVER had any probs with it.

i got it from some hick junkyard in memphis tennesee, east street automotive if i remember correctly.

it definatly runs better than it did when i got it from the local pizza delivery place for $700.

i did my swap last year at this time so it's been 1 year.
I got my engine from a hole called garage kwai it was blown.
After the rebuild i have had no issues with the reliability of the engine related to the swap. The only problems have been tuning related i.e. bad o2 sensor, tuning the turbo/fuel set-up so i can run more boost, and finding my boost problem.(the turbo would spool to psi then drop off to 2-3psi).Other then that i've been happy with my engine and car as a whole

2 years now and no major problems aside from some check engine lights I traced to a bad electrical connection (easilly fixed) and a rattle in the stock exhaust B pipe which is typical of GSR engines (header is coming soon).

The car has been factory reliable and is a total blast to drive.

I got the engine from a local kid i met on Parts Trader who decided to go H23 in his hybrid. I checked the numbers and milage with the yard in Florida where he had bought it and everything checked out.

I did all the work myself which is what i recommend because you will learn an invaluable ammount about your car.

It has been over a year and a half now.

Here are the problems I have had.

Emissions - I can't seem to pass the damn thing when the car runs right. I have to lean it out to dangerous levels, and then retard all of the timing out of it. the car barely runs, but it passes.

Transmissions - I am on my third tranny. I keep blowing them up. Of course, the fact that I run an auto tranny, and put N2O through it don't help. LOL!

Fuel Injectors - my injectors failed on me, and I had to change them out. They were those cheap *** Venom injectors.

Axles - I think I have replaced 3 on each side now.

Other than that, I have had no real probelms that could not be taken care of in an hour or two.

I've had my new swap since Dec.
Got my motor from Pacific Engine co.
I've hit every problem in the book (especially since i converted it to 5-speed and wired it from scratch)
Had no problems since.

10 months now, no problems what so ever. Got it from import auto salvage. 00 B18C1 w/ 9K miles. It's got a slight ticking but I think B-series engines are loud to begin with. I don't have my IAB's hooked up still, Mike, help. I'm gonna hit you up soon man.

3 years. No problems at all. Nippon. Seems much more reliable than the A6 motor that came out.

hybrid #1 - 87 civic Si, circa 94-late 97 - Hybrid'd to DOHC ZC during Christmas/new years break of 94-95. Had that car up till Jan. 98, then sold it (I don't know why!) in favor for a newer civic which led to...

Hybrid #2 - 92 civic CX, circa early 98 to RIP Sept.1, 2000 aka BLACKSHEEP.
Had this car for about 2 years. The latter part of 98 to summer of 99 I basically saved up a grip of parts to perform a unique B-series hybrid in the summer of 99' (B17A w/ctr pistons, 4.785 hybrid tranny). I have to admit, I was one of the first couple of pioneers to try out a 4.785fd! . I miss this car and engine tha I put some blood and swear into, but it met its demise in Sept. 00, by some ing thieves.... I began my road racing/touge life with this car, and it carrys over to...

Hybrid #3 - 92 civic CX, yes another one... circa 11.00.
Saved up and bought another EG because I wasn't fawking done with last one! thank you very much. I'm weary of posting up what I've done to this civic, but i have labeled it Blacksheep 2 or BS2.SP2. I will say that I've been in 2 accidents within the past year (01) with it haha.....sucks..but they were small accidents, small accidents that actually turned into good things for my car. (new paint job and some other things)....

Hybrid #4 is coming soon... venturing off into the FR world..
240SX w/SR20DET & Sil frontals.
Planning to keep my civic as well. I'll have the best of both worlds.

Hybrid #1 - 90 CRX DX - picked up in mid-95, B18A swap in early 97 with a proto-type HCP EF-18 mount kit (when mount kits for EF's just were coming out, and swapping in a B-series motor cost like $4K-$5K at any shop). Got totalled in early 99, but the chassis is being converted into a tube-chassis drag car.

Hybrid #2 - 92 Civic CX - picked up from HCP in mid 99 (was gonna be a H22 drag car... now is ), did JDM B20B (right before the B20 craze started up) and then turboed it (one of the first that I knew of), got bored of it and swapped in a JDM H22A in late 01.

Hybrid #3 - 91 Integra LS - picked up clean LS for $500 (front end hit but easily fixable... full interior w/power everything... gonna be a daily driver), and I'll probably throw in a spare JDM B20 motor into it and differnt tranny (custom gearing) but nothing more... probably gonna sell it.

Hybrid #4 - we'll see..... I'll probably get a luxury sedan or SUV before I get another hybrid

reply to katman:

no if i were you i wouldnt post anything about what mod's either.... too many people take the illegal way to make stuff.... as for me i dont really care too much for the outside of my car.. so ill work on that last...
but as for me..
i got my CRX after sept. 11 crap only reason i bought it was to help a friend out... and i put in a ZC dohc which isnt running yet...
but then in a while im going to replace that ZC with a d16a... so its still a hybrid DX with a d16

I've had my swap in for 8 months and it's running stong. I had a few bugs in the wiring that I worked out within the first week. After that, I've had no check lights or any other problems. I bought my GS-R swap from LQK Corp. in Topeka, KS and I only have good thing to say about them.

Hybrid #1 - 1990 CRX Si, 38,000 original miles at the time of swap. B16a, bla, bla. Been running for nearly 2 years now, no trouble.

Hybrid #2 - 1986 CRX Si. I've had this car for 9 years now - Last year it got a 1989 DOHC D16A1, yes the wiring was not easy. Been running for a year now, no trouble.

Hybrid #3 - 1988 Civic DX - aka Dr. Winters (the winter beater). After using some regane fuel addative, all the in the intake and the ports washed onto the intake valves and when I shut the car off, the goo hardened. Result, no compression the next day. The Dr. got the original 38,000 mi. D16A6 and Si tranny from Hybrid #1 above. It's been that way for a year now as well.
