Im pretty sure, but not positive...........95' and down are obd1 and 96 and up are obd2.............When/and if you get a motor, try and get an obd1 motor IMO

well the easiest I can think of is the distrubitor. on the obd1 it will have 2 plugs and on the obd2 it has one big plug. (not quite sure on the obd2 though it's been awhile)
also you can make it easier if you tell us what engine are you refering to.

im sorry , its a jdm type r motor, i have a 97 EK how will the wiring be easier to wire up using a OBD1 or OBD2

Check the Date Casting on the head right above the exhasit manifold ports.
OBDII - Single plug distributor, extra sensors on top of intake manifold (USDM), 2 prong plug going into the lower timing cover near Alternator (CKF)

Because their was no Type R motor that was obd1. The type r integra debued in japan in 96 or 97 I believe.

OK, that makes sense. Now will this be a plug and play connection. i know that i will still have to make a subharness for the vtec wires and knock sensor that are not there. but will everything else plug up. what happens at the ecu end of it ??
