Default Honda newbie needs to know the diffrence between engines

first off, Im a newbie to hondas, not cars, so feel free to use big words

ok, Im interested in honda engines, of course the B series since that seems to get all the aftermarket parts. Im considering getting a civic hatch and swapping in an engine, but I want to know what the ENGINEERING diffrences are between th B16, B18, and B20 are. also, the thigs that are diffrent from say, a b18c1 to a b18c5.

the main things Im looking for are boreXstroke, Head design, valve size, and engine weight. Im a very detail oriented person, so lots of little tiny minute details are GOOD with me.

and if it matters, I plan to turbo, maby a direct port nitrous setup.

B18A/B = 1.8 liter non vtec 140hp. Entry level Integra motor
B20B/Z = 2.0 version of above used in the CRV

B16A = 1.6liter, vtec, 160 hp. Impressive HP from a small engine but nothing happens unless you rev it.
b18c1 = stroked b16 with dual stage intake runners 170hp. Designed to be a good all around motor.
b18c5 = similar to b18c1 in demension but has ported intake runners and aggressive cams. 195hp. Bigger version of the B16s.

Default so...

ok, so my main question is:

is the displacement gained from only an increase in stroke? or does the B18/b20 have more bore than the B16?

the bore for all b series (except b20) is 81mm the b20's is 84mm so yes, its all from the stroke length.

All the B-series vtec cylinder heads are interchangeable. So yes it is possible.
Will it be practical?..... The question is more like 'can you find one?'.

There are only roughly 1000 Integra Type R/ year in the USA. Those that have crashed are bought easily. The rest of the supply is coming from Japan surplus.

The most common vtec heads are the b16s from the civics and the B18c1 from the GSR integra.

and to add to that. the type R head is basically a ported b16 head, the b18c1 head flows the least and has a diffrent intake bolt pattern than the 16/R head. so if you get a b16 head, port it, use R cams, and put it on a b18c block, you basically have a type r motor. (thats actually called the poor mans R motor)

ok.... thanks for the help already guys....

now, how much would it cost me to do the following swaps, keep in mind I will do all the labor myself. It will also be into an EK hatch

the poor mans ITR engine
B20
regular B18c1

now here is ANOTHER question... I have heard here and there about "sleeving". Im guessing that it would be possible to get B20 iron sleeves and plop them into a B18, and use B20 pistons (maby just get aftermarket).... is it feasable? How much cash? Im not sure I should do this one on my own, lol.

you guys are awesome - more helpful than any other online community I have come across

OH!

I forgot to say that I plan to do the swap and then between 6 to 12 months later go turbo. I also might be considering direct port nitrous.

boy, I just noticed that I tend to double post alot.
