help on swaping a b20 (non-vtec) in a 95 integra ls
i blew my motor about 2 weeks ago going home from diego. pulled the rods in cylinder 2 and 4! i guess ls motor really aren't made to rev high. the motor is pulled out alreaddy and i want to drop in a b20 motor. is it a STRAIGHT bolt in? i'm planing on using the intake manifold from the b18b motor. should i also use the b18b injectors, fuel rail, tb, and all that too? also my car is currently obdI and b20's are obdII, if i jus swap the distrubutor from the my old motor would that solve the problem? anythin else i should know about this swap? i'm doing it in two more weeks, appreciate any feedback you guys have, thanx!

from what i've read you'll need the LS wiring harness, distributor and fuel injectors to convert the b20 to obd1. The LS intake manifold is needed forsure and i believe the b20 crank pulley is bigger. Other than that its supposed to be a straight swap. Can't confirm anything here tho, 'casue i havn't sone the swap yet.
What did you do to your engine? You over revved it?

if i need the wiring harness thas koo cuz i can jus take that off my old motor. all the sensors should fit to the wiring harness though ryte? the pully being bigger doesn't mean i have to do anythin to it though does it? i have heard that ls pully are better but i cant get the damn stock pully of my ls motor, it's stuck in there! i didn't exaclty OVER rev the blown motor, i jus kept it rev high for too long. i was going about 6500rpm for like 50miles. the motor had 140k miles so i guess it was about to die anyways.

yep, that's pretty much it.. don't forget about the alternator.. reuse you obd1 alternator as well.. should be a straight drop besides swapping those few parts over..

Also, the CRV Pulley, you wil need to get a bigger belt for the Alternator and Air conditioning!
The swap will be direct drop in.

The B20 is basically a straight drop-in with a non-VTEC Integra. Use your complete intake manifold assembly, including injectors and fuel rail. This way, you will not need to change anything else as far as your wiring or fuel lines are concerned. As for the distributer, just use your 1995 distributer. While an OBDII distributer will work, it is just more work since you will also need to change the plug on your harness. Your 1995 alternator will also bolt up perfectly. But like the other guy said, you will need a longer belt if you don't change the crank pulley. Of course, if it is 2:00 in the morning when you get the alternator on and you can't get a different belt, just use the Integra crank pulley. Sorry to say, but the Integra valve cover will NOT work on a B20. It will bolt up. But the problem is the PCV system. The Integra motor has a breather on the back side of the block, which the CR-V has no accommodation for. The CR-V incorporates the PCV breather in the valve cover instead. Regardless, people will still think you still have an LS, as 1996+ LS motors use the same valve cover setup as the CR-V.

The jdm b20b should just drop right in, the same as the USDM one. One advantage though is that the IM on some JDM b20bs are already the same as the LS. No need for swapping. You'll love the engine.... i know i mine. Good luck.

i actually picked up the motor this morning. $800 for the full longblock. The motor is CLEAN though! i bought a hugh jug of simple green to clean that shiit but i don't think i'll be needin any of it! so far i'm happy w/ it. The motor better work though! not gonna swap it in for another week so wont know til then. I got he flywheel and clutch in alreaddy, jus need to swap intake manifold, harnes, distrubutor, and all that good stuff. i think the b20 pull should work, i tryed to put the bet on it and it fits but i've haven't mounted the starter yet though. Oh yea, steve was koo, let me pick my own motor, hella hard to pick one though, they ALL looked GOOD! plus there were these h22a, b16a even b18c5 and a k20c!!!!! i wanted them all!!!! hahahaha, i'll let u guys know wassup w/ the motor once i get it in. wish me luck! and lemme know if i need to do anythin else b4 i drop it in.
