Help Please - 85 Crx Obd-0 To D15B Vtec Obd2a
Hello Honda World .....
I have a crazy question, and I think here is the place where you can help me....I have a 85 CRX Si, which came with a EW3 MPFI engine OBD-0 and I'm changing the engine for D15B VTEC OBD2a. I have all the engine harness OBD2a with the ecu. and I have the whole interior harness OBD-0
I want to match the engine harness OBD2a with interior harness OBD-0 .... and so have completely operating the cluster, and the other things like main relay to the engine to run properly
I drew on paint to see if you understand what I need to do
I need to match both harness, but I need to know that wires will use and which are not
someone who knows how to do it..to know what wires i have to look...appreciate any help ..thanks

I believe you don't match the engine bay harness to the cabin harness, you need to match everything to the ecu plugs. That will depend on if you're going to run the obd2a ecu or the obd1 ecu. If you plan to keep the obd2a engine harness than the rest shouldn't be that hard. If you plan to go all the way with obd1, you have alot of wiring to do.

this is what someone told me...It will be the right way???
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Its really up to you as long as the wires are hooked up correctly it will run perfect
The only reason i suggest to get the extra piece of the harness your missing from the junkyard is the distributor and 90 percent of the engine sensors wire directly from ecu plugs to the connectors you have at the end of your engibe harness
It saves you alot of time and frustration then the driverside shock tower plug needs to be wired directly to the ecu for injectors and iacv.
Then
All that will be needed to have the engine run is
1. 12v switched +
2. Ground
3. Starter signal
4. Fuel pump - trigger wire to negative post on fp relay
Then you will want to pull the tachometer and temperature wires and splice thoes into the cluster
And it will run like a stock integra using the body harness for lights wipers blinkers and such
And your new standalone harness for the motor
Then at this time you can remove any extra wires including the old ecu plugs
Now if you want to splice the new harness to the old one then you will have to get a jumper from obd0 to obd1 after you convert your old harness to 88-91 obd0 spec
But more work and less reliable in my opinion
As long as you are doing it the way you think is easiest is all that matters. But you really neef the fsm for the diagrams from both cars
Take your time you wont be disappointed
Goodluck
